Sent: April 22, 2010
23 Rotary members and 2 visitors gathered for Lee's fried chicken on Monday. President Dave welcomed regular visitors Russ Rittgers and Bill Boone. Mike McGreevy managed to get through the prayer, even though Steve Stirn was back. So, was the problem Steve, OR NOT?
LOTTERY
Small pot victory went to Damon Kuhn for $19, but he was unable to find the winning card for the $216 BIG POT -- and so it grows.
SGT. AT ARMS
With Kienzle away, Larry Willard arrived to "play". His first fine at $4 to Damon for the lottery win; next, Val paid $1 for leaving Larry's name off the Highway Clean Up list. Can't help it, Willard -- I guess you just weren't working hard enough for me to notice!
Christy Bosch was his for a cell phone fine, and everyone who didn't show up for Highway Clean Up had to ante up, too. Jon Mesarch and Scott Ratliff paid for being late and President Dave paid $1 to leave early. For someone who claims to be retired, he shows up in that shirt and tie and awful lot lately!
Happy Bucks: Kathy tossed in a buck because her daughter and son-in-law vacationing in Greece were not having their travel impaired by the volcano eruption; Val donated $1 because the volcano was keeping her British theater group from flying home -- a nice assist to the bottom line! Russ Rittgers was happy tax season was over; Damon attended a track meet at LHS the previous weekend and wanted to let us know that all of the visitors were in awe of our facilities; Doug Wells tossed in a buck for Jason Quier for his son's birthday, and because his divorce was final last week; Bill Boone's son won another golf tournament (when is that going to pay off for YOU, Bill?); Jon visited with Joe Thomas and said Joe sends his regards to everyone; John Smith reminded everyone of the Bob Caravan at the Brass Ring on 4/22; Russ remembered that his son had a birthday this month (24 yrs. old!); Lee Ann was happy for all the volunteers at the hospital during this Volunteer Week; Larry Willard donated the $5 he found along the highway during last week's Clean Up.

PROGRAM
Today's program was a last minute deal provided by Mark Hamon. He provided us with some interesting information about US Bank (where he works) and the banking industry, in general.
Much to our surprise, Mark told us that US Bank was the 5th largest bank in the country with 60,000 employees. They are expanding and have job openings all over the country.
Mark gave us a lot of interesting tidbits about the TARP money program and how it was supposed to work -- and how it actually DID work. Typical government program, actually -- some parts good, some not so good.
The best part of the program was his hand out titled "How to Maintain A Healthy Level of Insanity". His favority was "When the money comes out of the ATM, scream "I won! I won!"
My favority was "Put mosquito netting around your work area and play tropical sounds all day". Good way to get people to avoid you!
Next week's program is by Stephanie George!
